Prehab Pilates and Physical Therapy is staffed by skilled, impressively trained, compassionate professionals who share one goal: achieving each client’s goal. Each has longstanding relationships with clients who have trusted them for years.
A native of Northern Kentucky, Jill graduated from St. Louis University with a BS, PT. She spent the majority of her 20-year clinical career with The Christ Hospital where she was part of the Performing Arts Program, treating professional dancers, musicians and singers.
Throughout her career, Jill has enhanced her knowledge and skills by studying with some of the most-respected professionals and at well-known programs in the field of Pilates. Jill has extensively studied the body and how it works. She is trained in many types of hands on-techniques that can often “fix” problems in patients which have previously been labeled “unfixable.” By combining this knowledge of hands-on work with a keen eye to movement, Jill can skillfully get to the root of physical problems that are causing pain and correct them. Many patients with chronic issues actually perform better at their sport and activity after physical therapy.
Jill is a working mom who understands the challenge of juggling family, business and health. With the addition of treatments and classes for prenatal/postpartum women, infants and children, her practice reflects her life as a wife and mother of two young children. Outside of her practice she enjoys travelling, golf and trying all types of movement classes. She enjoys preparing tasty, healthy recipes for her active family.
Rachel teaches Pilates to empower her clients to find the body, mind, spirit connection that is key to Pilates practice. Heather Sommer is a Certified Pilates Instructor with more than 14 years of teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Suffering a knee injury that prevented her from dancing, she was introduced to Pilates when her modern dance instructor encouraged her to rehabilitate her knee and become a Pilates instructor at his studio.
Heather relocated to San Diego to train under and work for world-renowned Pilates instructor Julian Littleford. She gained a great deal of experience working with a wide range of clients from as young as six years to over 80, training pregnant women and people recovering from various injuries or special needs as well as assisting in the rehabilitation of professional athletes, performers and clients of various body types.
Heather returned home to Cincinnati in 2006. She loves Instructing people in Pilates to help them achieve a balanced, strong-flexible body and sound mind through body awareness and body conditioning. She continues to explore the nuances of Pilates with some the industry’s best and has taken workshops from Lolita San Miguel, Amy Phillips, Allison Roebker, and Susan Autran.
Over the years, thanks to Pilates and some physical therapy, Heather did get back into dancing. You can often find her at Dare to Dance in Blue Ash where she is a member of their exclusive Latin dance team, Atrevidos.
Pilates Instructor, positivity enthusiast, perpetual learner, lover of life -these are just a few of the titles that describe me.
Prior to my Pilates practice, I was plagued by back pain resultant of my scoliosis. Like too many in our society, I felt trapped by my body, often thinking, “I can’t do that because my back hurts.” At times, it felt that my pain had control.
Thankfully Pilates gave me back control-it improved my body awareness and taught me that we can transform our body and discover relief through concentrated practice. The deeper I dive into the work, the more I crave movement and knowledge about how to move efficiently and correctly.
It is my mission to share this practice with others so that they can understand how good it feels to move correctly…and how fun it can be, too!
